Job Title: Inside Sales Acquisition Account Manager

Req ID: 58979

Job Function: Sales and Commercial

Posting Start Date: 09/07/2026

Posting End Date:

Division: UK Business

Job Location: GBR-Birmingham-Three Snowhill

Advertised Salary: Competitive

About The Role

As a Inside Sales Acquisition Account Manager within BT’s Inside Sales team, this role focuses on generating new business and re‑engaging customers who currently have low or inactive spend with BT.

This is a hands‑on, individual contributor role where success comes from consistent commercial activity, resilience and personal delivery. You’ll work with customers where little relationship currently exists, prospecting and building credibility, identifying opportunity and converting this into revenue across BT’s enterprise portfolio.

This is not an account management or customer success position. Success comes from identifying opportunities, generating pipeline and closing new business. This role is ideal for someone with experience in B2B sales who enjoys hunting out and creating opportunities rather than inheriting them. You may currently work as a Business Development Executive, SDR, BDR, Internal Sales Executive, Telesales Executive or Junior Account Manager.

Over time you could grow into roles with larger customers and more valuable sales cycles. Successful performers can progress into larger customer portfolios, field sales roles or specialist technology sales positions. BT also offers a bespoke sales training programme for learning & development.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning and working a portfolio of medium-sized business customers with low or dormant spend
  • Proactively prospecting, identifying new opportunities and creating conversations with customers where little existing relationship exists
  • Carrying out outbound engagement and progressing conversations through the full sales cycle
  • Identifying and qualifying opportunities and converting them into contracted sales
  • Handling objections and navigating challenges in complex customer situations
  • Closing your own deals across BT’s enterprise product portfolio
  • Managing pipeline, forecasting and CRM hygiene to agreed standards
  • Using insight, data and customer understanding to shape commercial conversations

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
