COMPANY OVERVIEW
We are seeking an accomplished Inside Sales Manager to drive and expand sales of our Storage and Technical Services business across the UK. This is a fixed term contract covering maternity leave for 6 to 9 months. This is a unique role with commensurate rewards for the right individual. Ideally, candidates will be able to work hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
Sampled enables clients to advance human health by leveraging active biological samples through preservation, immortalization and utilization in comprehensive multiomics research within the only leading-edge Global Integrated Analytical Biorepository.
We care for our partners’ samples to enable them to transform medicine and save lives. Based in Glasgow, UK, our stability storage experts have developed and maintained a strong sample storage program which is underpinned by years of experience working with the pharmaceutical, biopharma, life sciences and healthcare industries. Storage services include Controlled Stability Storage, Photostability (Lux/Uva), Cycling Studies, Controlled Warehouse Bespoke Temperature and / or Relative Humidity, Document Storage, Disaster Recovery, and Biobanking -196oC to 5oC. Our customer facing Technical Services team provide invaluable support to clients who require on-site validation and / or calibration of refrigerators, freezers, incubators, photostability, temperature, and humidity chambers.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Head of Global Sales, the Inside Sales Manager will promote and sell the Sampled portfolio of services, focusing on developing and qualifying leads, nurturing through to conversion into active sales. The job holder will work closely with the Global Marketing and Local Operational teams to achieve aggressive growth targets while progressing leads in the company’s CRM system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the customer facing process for the full Sampled portfolio of products and services.
- Targeted and strategic engagement of customers through phone and e-mail, and occasional travel possible (travel load TBC).
- Customer engagement includes:
- Pipeline management; overseeing and optimizing potential customer progress from initial contact to final purchase and post-sale follow up.
- Contact existing customers, qualify new sales leads, nurture leads through tailored communication regarding Sampled products and services that best meet their needs.
- Coordinate with internal resources to address customer questions or objections, provide pricing, negotiate and submit individualized quotes and close the sales process through fully executed proposal.
- Establish and maintain strong, positive, productive relationships with customer accounts including but not limited to end-users, management and purchasing contacts with the intent of building lasting relationships.
- Actively prospect through outbound contact to existing and prospective customers to identify sales opportunities, promote our full suite of capabilities and initiate the sales process.
- Lead qualification: dedicate time to develop ideal customer profiles, market analysis (competitive analysis and Industry trends), Customer insights (behavioral analysis and preferences to tailor our approach, customer feedback), CRM updates and reporting, collaboration with whole sales team to share knowledge gained.
- Internally, works collaboratively with Marketing and UK Operations team to meet and exceed sales quotas for the sales territory. This Includes:
- Establish new customers and maintain/grow existing customer accounts through specific campaigns or follow-up, supporting sales activities of the sales team by collaborating with sales channel partners / technology providers.
- Conduct all sales efforts for defined products /product lines, including customer outreach, needs definition and negotiation to fully executed proposal.
- Work closely with Marketing team to define and manage campaigns intended to grow sales in specific product lines, market segments and regions.
- Responsible for entering and maintaining lead, customer and sales opportunity forecast data into CRM database for assigned customers.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, in Life Sciences or STEM.
- Relevant experience in a customer orientated environment in Biotech or Pharma industry, ideally with a good knowledge of Biorepository and Stability Storage testing, and an understanding of laboratory services and sample management across various industry segments.
- Can demonstrate success in sales.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and master highly technical concepts and articulate them well to others.
- Excellent planning, prioritization and organization skills. Good attention to detail.
- Results driven: Demonstrates the desire to achieve the best possible results. A self-starter, able to work with limited supervision.
- Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills. Always acts professionally. Collaborative and flexible approach.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience working with Salesforce, HubSpot or a similar CRM database a plus.
- Committed to continued professional development.
Salary range £35,000 to £45,000 per year, plus Sales Incentive Commission Plan. Salary will be dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.
