Market Development Representative – Sales Team
Location: UK (in-office, 5 days/week) Base Salary: £45,000 ** Variable Commission:** £27,500 (fully ramped)

About the Role 🔍
PitchBook’s Sales Team fuels enterprise growth through new client acquisition. Our Market Development Representatives (MDRs) are the gateway for inbound leads, kickstarting the sales cycle from first contact to successful contract execution (led by our Business Development Representatives).
Key focus areas:
- Delivering high-quality, value-driven customer experiences.
- Turning warm leads into sales opportunities.
- Prospective discovery, objection handling, and booking demos.
Primary Responsibilities
- Achieve business goals and KPIs while embodying the PitchBook values and exceeding customer expectations.
- Book qualified product demonstrations for the Sales Team.
- Engage leads via phone, email, and LinkedIn to nurture relationships and secure meetings.
- Leverage tech tools (Salesforce, Outreach, LeanData/BookIt) to manage the lead pipeline and maintain accurate records.
- Act as a consultative partner, deeply understanding prospects’ challenges and business priorities to tailor solutions.
- Conduct pre-call research and thorough discovery calls.
- Complete allocated training to support personal and team growth.
- Adhere to PitchBook’s vision, values, and behavioral standards, embodying them in daily work.

Skills & Qualifications
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Prior sales internship or entry-level sales experience (not mandatory).
- Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, or similar CRM/lead-gen tools (e.g. LeanData, BookIt).
- Staffing or B2B sales exposure a plus.
Required
- Fearlessness and urgency: Leverage curiosity to deliver consistent results.
- Prioritization & organization: Align activity to team strategies/goals.
- Negotiation prowess: Convert leads into booked demos confidently.
- Communication expertise: Polished verbal and written skills for all mediums.
- Collaborative mindset: Fast learner, competitive, but innately team-oriented.
- Past or present interest in capital markets, private equity, or venture capital.
- Full Microsoft Office proficiency (e.g. advanced Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Ability to quickly grasp new systems.
- Currently eligibility to work in the UK without visa sponsorship (now or future).

Compensation & Ground Rules
- Base pay: £45,000.
- Total variable commission (at full performance): £27,500 per year—no cap on earnings for top performers.

- Tech usage: Daily reliance on PC and phones.
- Travel expectations: Minimal corporate-level (e.g. office hustle, meetings).
