Job Description
The successful applicant will manage the promotion and sales of LGC Diagnostics & Genomics portfolio products and services in the assigned area (France & Benelux). This position requires finding and connecting with both new and current customers to present LGC Diagnostics & Genomics products as solutions for their scientific and business requirements.
This is a home-based inside sales role with minimal travel (<10%).
Essential Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:
- Inbound Lead Management: Follow up by phone or email on new customer inquiries, sample requests, webinars, and tradeshow leads to ensure contact with all customers for cross-selling. Identify and proactively contact prospective customers to generate demand for LGC Diagnostics & Genomics products and services.
- Proactive Sales: Grow the territory by managing existing customer accounts and seeking new business in Research & Academic, Public Health, and Biotech sectors. Use strong verbal and written communication skills to grasp customers’ needs and suggest suitable solutions in a consultative approach. Take charge of customer sales presentations and product talks, working closely with Product Specialists and Field Applications teams to meet customers’ technical needs.
- Pricing/Quoting: Deliver pricing and quotes to customers, collaborating closely with Product Management, Product Specialists, and Customer Service Teams. Follow up on quotes and orders to ensure repeat business and uncover further commercial opportunities within customer accounts. Apply approaches to maintain recurring revenue and keep valuable customers.
- Portfolio/Solution Selling: Successfully promote the entire LGC Diagnostics & Genomics product range, including but not limited to: Reagents, Instrumentation, and Laboratory Services.
- Sales Strategies: Establish and complete strategies for acquiring new customers and maintain/grow existing customer accounts in order to meet and exceed revenue goals.
- Industry and Product Knowledge: Gain an in-depth knowledge of LGC’s products and services, adopting a continuous learning perspective as the portfolio develops. Maintain and expand your understanding of industry trends, client operations, and competitive offerings to accurately represent LGC Diagnostics & Genomics products.
- Reporting: Provide timely sales and pipeline inputs as required to support reporting of leading and lagging indicators.
- Marketing Support: Collaborate with Marketing to assist with social selling and outbound efforts such as LinkedIn, e-blasts, tradeshows, and web conferences. Attendance at tradeshows and conferences may be required occasionally.
- SalesForce.com: Use SFDC CRM to detail customer information, track opportunities, and sales activities.
- Quality: Diligently study and follow the requirements of the ISO 13485 quality management system.

Qualifications
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field required; master’s or doctorate degree in Biology, Genetics, or Business Administration desired.
- Strong foundation in genetics and molecular biology; laboratory or bench experience preferred. Ability to understand a broad range of customer applications and identify commercial opportunities.
- Experience in sales, account management, customer service, or other customer-facing roles preferred. Demonstrated communication skills and interest in consultative selling required.
- Proficiency with SalesForce.com or other CRM for pipeline and account management preferred.
- Demonstrated ability or skills to develop customer relationships, find opportunities, and contribute to account growth preferred.
- Strong computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
