Inside Sales Representative

Title: Inside Sales Representative

Reports to: Regional Director - UK

Location: Manchester (Office-Based)

Job Description: The Inside Sales Representative provides commercial and operational support to the Regional Director and Account Managers throughout the sales lifecycle. The role is responsible for supporting customer engagement activities, preparing quotations, coordinating pricing and supplier information, tracking orders, maintaining CRM accuracy, and assisting in the resolution of customer queries. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a responsive, professional, and efficient customer experience while supporting revenue growth across Sterling UK.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a sales support, inside sales, or customer-facing commercial role.
  • Strong organisational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident and professional telephone and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Basic understanding of IT products and solutions is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM system is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Commercial Support

  • Support Account Managers throughout the sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to order fulfilment.
  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations in line with agreed pricing and commercial guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of customer and sales activity within the CRM system.
  • Track orders and provide proactive updates to internal stakeholders and customers.

Customer Engagement

  • Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email in a professional and timely manner.
  • Liaise with customers regarding pricing, product availability, lead times, and order status.
  • Support the resolution of delivery queries, returns, and other service-related matters.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.

Supplier & Internal Coordination

  • Engage with distributors, manufacturers, and partners to obtain pricing and product information.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing and operations teams to ensure timely shipment and delivery.
  • Support compliance with internal sales processes and commercial controls.
