Our Life Sciences and Biochemicals division focuses on delivering high-quality biochemical reagents, custom synthesis solutions, and catalog products that empower research, diagnostics, and manufacturing.
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales Specialist to strengthen our commercial team and support our continued growth across Europe, North America, and Asia.
Position Overview
The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for driving revenue growth by managing inbound inquiries, proactively engaging new and existing customers, and supporting field sales with high-quality lead qualification. The role combines technical knowledge of biochemical products with strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for customer success.
This position works closely with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, and Field Sales to ensure customers receive fast, accurate, and value-adding support.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Manage and respond to inbound inquiries, technical questions, quotations, and requests for product information.
- Proactively develop and qualify leads through outbound calling, email campaigns, and digital tools.
- Build and maintain customer relationships across academic, biotech, pharma, and industrial segments.
- Provide product recommendations, application insights, and pricing aligned with commercial strategy.
- Collaborate with field sales to coordinate account handovers, support opportunities, and drive pipeline growth.

Commercial Execution
- Prepare and follow up on quotes, tenders, and contract pricing.
- Track opportunities and customer interactions in the CRM system, ensuring data accuracy.
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets, including revenue, margin, and conversion KPIs.
- Monitor customer order patterns and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities within the biochemical portfolio.
Business & Market Intelligence
- Identify trends in customer needs, competitor activity, and market dynamics.
- Work with Product Management to give structured feedback on product gaps, pricing, and new opportunities.
- Support marketing campaigns by converting campaign leads and providing insights for targeted outreach.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with Customer Service for smooth order processing and delivery.
- Provide input to Marketing on content, promotions, and customer messaging.
- Support Sales Managers and Key Account Managers with account research, prospecting, and customer preparation.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field.
- Previous experience in inside sales, customer support, or technical sales in a life science or chemical company (preferred).
- Knowledge of biochemical reagents, fine chemicals, or research products strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies
- Strong customer orientation with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to quickly understand technical product information and translate it for customers.
- Proactive mindset with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, global, matrixed environment.
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are an asset.
