This is a hybrid role based in our new Soho Place office (opened in 2023) – in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.

The Role

This position is based within the Data Analytics team, part of the wider Insights and Delivery function, which is collectively responsible for providing timely insights on business health and for the development and delivery of G-Research's strategy.

Data is at the heart of our business and we see the ability to embed data-driven insight into the fabric of daily management as a core driver of competitive advantage for the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver projects to improve business performance and decision making, using:
    • A variety of analytical and modelling techniques
  • Support the smooth running and augmentation of business operations through the provision of insights on metrics that matter
  • Work with senior leadership to:
    • Identify key hypotheses and assumptions
    • Quantify and challenge assumptions
  • Visualise and communicate insights for both:
    • Technical and non-technical audiences
  • Provide:
    • Technical oversight on modelling and simulation projects
    • Mentorship to other team members

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Practical experience in a business analytics setting, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience in owning and delivering end-to-end analytics projects
    • Demonstrated experience with:
      • Modelling and simulation, e.g. discrete events, systems dynamics, optimisation (highly preferential)
  • Strong academic credentials, including:
    • Minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills allowing you to engage C-Suite stakeholders
  • Ability to dissect ambiguous problems and:
    • Identify key drivers
    • Determine appropriate analytical techniques
  • High proficiency in creating end-to-end reporting solutions including:
    • Data extraction
    • Data cleaning
    • Analysis
    • Report building
  • A robust understanding of:
    • Statistics and ability to apply statistical methods to their modelling and analysis
  • Willingness to evangelise best practice and mentor colleagues
  • An innovative mindset with a commitment to continuously improve work processes
