The Role
Our client, a long-established UK commercial law firm, is recruiting an Insolvency & Restructuring Partner to lead and develop its insolvency offering. The firm operates within a global network and has grown strategically over the years, through both acquisition and organic expansion. Notable practice areas include:
- Banking & Finance
- Commercial & Corporate
- Real Estate (both Corporate and Investment & Finance)
- Disputes
A leadership opportunity has arisen following the retirement of the former Head of Insolvency. This role offers unlimited strategic ownership and full backing in developing the insolvency division as a core part of the firm’s long-term strategy. A supportive senior associate and mid-level associate team remain in place, ensuring seamless client relationship transition.
The Insolvency & Restructuring Group provides comprehensive advice on UK and international corporate and personal insolvency matters, working closely with:
- Insolvency practitioners
- Executives and directors
- financiers and credit controllers
The practice supports clients through the full lifecycle of distress, from early-stage restructuring and rescue strategies to formal enforcement and liquidation.

The Candidate
We are seeking an Experienced Insolvency & Restructuring Partner with demonstrable expertise in:
- Leading corporate and personal insolvency practices
- Managing both contentious and non-contentious insolvency work
- Cultivating and leveraging established client relationships or developing them swiftly
- Mentoring and developing junior lawyers within a high-performing team
Ideal candidates should also:
- Be commercially astute, collaborative and entrepreneurship-driven
- Have experience thriving within a multi-disciplinary, full-service environment

Benefits & Remuneration Structure
Base Package
- Competitive base salary
Profit Share Model
- Partner target at 2.5x base salary
- 12.5% uplift payable on all billed/paid work in excess of target (target applies irrespective of personal generation vs referral)
