Inspection Engineer – Glasgow

Contract: Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:30 Hours: 42 hours per week

About the Role

Speedy are the UK’s leading hire provider, offering the widest range of tools, specialist hire equipment, plant, and support services – everything needed for every job.

Based at our customer site in Glasgow, the Inspection Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining our operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring equipment service schedules are up-to-date
  • Responding quickly to customer equipment breakdowns
  • Conducting on-site inspections and minor repairs

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, schedule, and maintain hired equipment
  • Perform site inspections and verify repair details
  • Conduct low-level access repairs as required
  • Work independently under pressure and collaboratively in a team
  • Support the ESG Strategy (Decade to Deliver) within Speedy

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Essential previous mechanical engineering experience
  • Preferably within the hire industry or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience in:
    • plant, low-level access technology repairs
    • on-site inspections
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
