Job Title: Inspection Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Quality | SECTION: Inspection | AREA: Manufacturing LOCATION: Blackburn-based SALARY:
- 2 positions (rotating days: 06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00): £40,068.06
- 1 permanent night shift position (22:00 – 06:00): £44,074.87 plus a optional bonus scheme of up to 15%

1. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
As an Inspection Supervisor, you will:
- Lead the final inspection team during shifts, driving performance improvements while maintaining strict adherence to inspection standards.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring clear, effective communication—including real-time updates on job status.
- Exceed departmental KPIs in terms of Efficiency, Quality, and Health & Safety.
- Contribute to the strategic development of quality initiatives across the Blackburn facility.

2. REPORTS TO
- Quality Manager
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
- Manage inspector resourcing, including absence, holiday, and overtime scheduling.
- Oversee training needs assessment and maintain an updated competency matrix for inspectors.
Supervision & Quality Control
- Ensure accurate data entry and consistent test output to scheduled deadlines.
- Escalate any quality issues to the operations and quality management teams for swift resolution.
- Support root cause analysis of non-conformities, proposing and implementing inspection corrections.
Performance & Compliance
- Set and track individual performance objectives, aligning inspectors with corporate strategy.
- Monitor procedure adherence and code of conduct compliance, enforcing HR policies.
Process Improvements
- Contribute to documentation reviews and enhancements of inspection workflows.
4. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant experience, ideally in inspection roles.
- Proven team management/supervision experience.
- Minimum qualification:
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in an engineering or scientific discipline.
- Deep understanding of industrial standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, staying organized and customer-focused.

- Process mapping, Gantt Charts, Root Cause Analysis
