There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Yorkshire Division, located in Leeds is looking to recruit a Inspections Manager to join the Division’s Customer Care department.

The Role

The Inspections Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the Customer Care department consistently delivers an exceptional service aligned with the values and standards set out in Bellway’s Customer Charter, NHBC, and NHQC expectations.

The Inspections Manager is a vital link between our customers, and both internal and external teams. They conduct home visits in a friendly and professional way, assessing the scope of required works and ensuring clear, consistent communication throughout the remediation process. Their involvement helps streamline coordination, reduce delays, and enhance the overall customer experience.

This role of Inspections Manager reports directly to the Head of Customer Care on all matters relating to Customer Care and after service/sales.

Principal Accountabilities Of The Role Include

  • Positively contribute to the level of service delivered to our customers, in line with the Bellway Customer Charter and the standards expected by the NHBC and NHQC.
  • Conduct home inspections with professionalism and courtesy, identifying necessary remedial works.
  • Plan and manage resolution works, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Liaise with Customer Care Operatives, contractors, and suppliers to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with customers, providing updates and scheduling follow-up visits when required.
  • Work closely with the customer care team to ensure accurate recording of customer issues and project costs within company systems.
  • Support compliance with NHBC warranty obligations, attending resolution and Section 3 meetings, taking follow up action as directed.
  • Assist the Head of Customer Care with training and line management of Customer Care Operatives as required.

Experience, Skills and The Role Conditions

Experience of working in a Customer Inspections Manager position would be advantageous

Trade and site experience is preferable

Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of health and safety obligations, building legislation and NHBC regulations

Qualifications And Training

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C (or equivalent) or above
  • Current and full UK driving licence

Skills and Aptitude

  • Demonstrates strong project management skills can work independently and take initiative
  • Proven customer care skills with the ability to communicate effectively face-to-face and over the phone
  • Experience delivering to strict timescales to meet KPI’s with the ability to think ahead and forecast customer issues
  • Ability to communicate well and build robust working relationships with external contractors
  • Committed to diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent administration and organisation skills
  • Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems.

The Role and Working Conditions

  • Willing to be flexible in respect to day-to-day duties and hours worked
  • Working inside or outside and as part of a team or as a lone worker in all weather’s conditions
  • Travel to and from developments will be required
