Astute’s Power Team is partnering with a specialist critical power provider, known for delivering high-quality generator and UPS solutions across essential industries. We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Installation Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and integration of critical power systems nationwide.

Responsibilities And Duties Of The Installation Engineer Role

Reporting to the Head of Projects & Design, you will:

  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to carry out installations accurately.
  • Work closely with project managers, clients, and design engineers to ensure compliant and integrated delivery of projects.
  • Install, terminate, and commission electrical systems for generator and UPS equipment, including cable routing, containment, and panel wiring.
  • Produce detailed installation reports, commissioning documentation, and test results.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, industry standards, and quality requirements.
  • Deliver basic operational training to customers and colleagues.
  • Other duties as required.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (ideally via apprenticeship).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • ECS Gold Card (or working towards).
  • Experience within commercial, industrial, or power generation electrical installations.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience with generator control/protection systems or HV switching is a plus (training can be provided).
