Installation and Commissioning Engineer - Civil Nuclear

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Installation and Commissioning Engineer within the Civil Nuclear sector. This role involves leading a critical project at Hinckley Point C Nuclear Power Station in Somerset.

As the Installation and Commissioning Engineer, you will:

  • Support the Site Team in the installation and commissioning of Ultimate Diesel Generators (UDGs).
  • Develop business strategies for site delivery of installation, testing, and commissioning work.
  • Assiste with creating Rolls-Royce document templates and company procedures for managing site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Site Support & Operations

  • Support installation and commissioning of UDGs in collaboration with the Site Team.
  • Visit the Hinckley Point C site to assist in ongoing operations.
  • Work with the Logistics Coordinators to manage equipment delivery and storage.
  • Organise equipment transportation to EDF NNB remote warehouses.
  • Produce supporting documentation, including:
    • Care and Maintenance plans
    • Inventory schedules
    • Ensuring compliance with storage conditions.
  • Act as lead reviewer for document packages (e.g., Packaging Specifications, Packing Lists, Transport Specifications).

Technical & Procedural Development

  • Assist in creating Outline Installation Method Statements.
  • Create, review, and manage UDG system Commissioning Procedures.
  • Provide technical solutions for installation and commissioning challenges.
  • Operate and manage site management systems (e.g., SWITCH, VMS, WIMS).

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in large/complex site systems installation and commissioning.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in mechanical engineering (or related field).
  • Strong documentation creation skills, with a balance of site-based work.
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (or ability to obtain it).
