Installation Engineer - Mission Critical Data Centre Projects
Location: Nottingham office (2bm)** + UK-wide travel
About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on Installation Engineer to join our expanding team at 2bm’s Nottingham base. In this dynamic role, your work will involve delivering tailored solutions across diverse data centre projects, ensuring flawless installations, upgrades, and modifications in high-stakes environments.

Key Responsibilities
Core Installation Work
- Measure, plan, and deliver full installs of aisle containment systems
- Specialize in installing hot/isle containment solutions from multiple manufacturers
- Fit and remediate IT cabinets, plus associated components:
- Power supplies
- Sensors (e.g. monitoring systems)
- Cyber-physical locks
- Rack-mounted UPS systems
- Switches
- Underfloor water detection (safety systems)
- Execute full data hall strip-outs
- Install cable trays, trunking, and piping

Fabrication & Tailored Solutions
- Engage as the primary on-site fabricator
- Manufacture bespoke adjustments (e.g. hardware modification)
- Install ultra-low noise systems: condensers & rear door heat exchangers
Support Work
- Contribute to broader project activities including:
- Electrical cabinet installations
- Cutting cable access throughways
- Thermal insulation liner (e.g. piping lagging)
What We’re Looking For
Mindset & Skills
- Fast-learner with a hands-on approach
- Problem-solving acumen + meticulous attention to detail
- Collaborative mindset + professional client interaction
- Previous installation/mechanical/electrical experience is a plus but not mandatory
Logistics
- Full-time role with an office base in Nottingham
- Requires daily travel across UK to client sites
Training & Development
- No formal qualifications required
- CSCS card implementation support provided (though not mandatory)
- Full on-the-job training included for skill progression
