Installation Technician
Installation Technician Warehouse Automation
£45-50 K DOE | 28 days annual leave | National Travel
We're partnering with a global warehouse automation business to recruit an Installation Technician for a highly mobile, field-based role supporting projects across the UK and the Globe.
This position involves significant national travel, so it's ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road and working on large-scale automation installations at customer sites.
The role
- Install, assemble, and wire warehouse automation systems on-site
- Commission systems and carry out functional and safety testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and quality standards
- Complete installation reports, QA records, and documentation
- Provide on-site updates and basic operator training to customers

Travel requirement
- Frequent travel
- Regular National travel
- Occasional short-notice or urgent site visits
- Flexible working hours during peak installation phases

What we're looking for
- Experience in industrial automation, installation, or commissioning
- Mechanical and/or electrical background
- Confident fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and customer-facing ability
- Comfortable working at height (MEWPs / forklifts)
- Happy with extensive travel and working away from home
