Build the installer network behind the UK’s ground source heat pump growth
Location: UK-wide field-based role, with a strong focus on key territories (inc. South of England)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Package: Base salary circa £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience, plus performance bonus, car allowance, and benefits
Reporting to: Director of Commercial Strategy
Kensa is the UK’s leading ground source heat pump manufacturer and solutions provider. As the heat pump market grows, we are investing in the installer partnerships that will help more homes move away from fossil-fuel heating and towards low-carbon, efficient ground source technology. Successful installer partnerships underpin this mission.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious, experienced installer-facing business development or specification professional to build a high-value partner network in one of the most specialist areas of the low-carbon heating market. You will be responsible for finding, recruiting, onboarding, and developing the installers who choose Kensa for ground source heat pump projects across the UK.
If you already work with heating engineers, MCS-certified installers, renewable heating businesses or merchant-led installer networks, or work for a manufacturer doing exactly this type of role, this role gives you the chance to move into a more strategic, higher-value, and specialist market. Ground source is not high-volume commodity sales; it is about longer-term relationships, technical credibility, premium projects, and helping installers grow profitable repeat business with Kensa.
You will be a visible, proactive presence in the installer community: identifying the right partners, understanding what motivates their businesses, overcoming barriers to adoption, and making it commercially compelling for them to specify and install Kensa products.
What you’ll be doing
- Growing Kensa’s installer partner network by identifying, approaching, and recruiting high-quality renewable heating businesses across England, Wales, and Scotland.
- Building a strong pipeline of prospective partners through direct outreach, field visits, events, referrals, training engagement, and wider market activity.
- Taking new partners from first conversation through to training, first installation, and confident repeat use of Kensa products as activated installers.
- Developing long-term commercial relationships with installer business owners, directors, and technical decision-makers.
- Working closely with Kensa’s sales, technical, marketing, and commercial teams to ensure installers have the proposition, support, and confidence they need to choose Kensa.
- Representing the voice of installers internally, feeding back on objections, competitor activity, pricing, training needs, and opportunities to improve the partner experience.
- Promoting Kensa’s installer training, technical support, sales tools, product developments, and partner incentives.
- Tracking partner activity, installation volumes, network coverage, and pipeline progress through CRM and regular reporting.
- Attending relevant industry events and maintaining strong visibility within the UK heat pump and installer community.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

What we’re looking for
- A proven track record in field-based business development and specification, ideally in heat pumps, HVAC, heating, plumbing, renewables, or merchant / distributor territory management.
- Experience building trusted relationships with installers, contractors, heating engineers, merchants, or technical SME business owners.
- A proactive, opportunity-led approach: you enjoy opening doors, building new relationships, and turning conversations into measurable commercial growth.
- Good understanding of how installer businesses make product decisions, including the importance of technical support, training, lead quality, profitability, and reliability.
- A good technical understanding of heating systems, ideally heat pumps, that can engage proactively and reactively to installer requirements and questions.
- Knowledge of MCS, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, heat pump installations, or low-carbon heating is a strong advantage, but ground source experience is not essential if you bring the right installer network experience and skills.
- Confidence working independently across a wide territory, managing your own diary, and spending time in the field with customers and partners.
- Full UK driving license.
Why join Kensa?
- You will be joining the UK’s leading ground source heat pump manufacturer at a pivotal point in the growth of the low-carbon heating market.
- You will have the chance to shape, not just sell, the installer proposition: feeding into training, incentives, support models, product messaging, and partner programmes.
- You will work in a specialist, premium segment where projects are higher value, and relationships matter.
- You will take a genuinely entrepreneurial role, building a network that directly supports Kensa’s commercial growth.
- You will be rewarded for meaningful outcomes: active installer partners, repeat installations, and growth in Kensa GSHP volume through the partner network.
