Institutional Client Onboarding Analyst

Institutional Client Onboarding Analyst

The Opportunity

The Institutional Client Onboarding Analyst collaborates closely with Sales Relationship Managers, Service Relationship Managers, international institutional clients, consultants, custodians, and various internal teams to onboard and maintain accounts for international institutional investors. This role acts as a project manager to enhance existing processes and address operational challenges stemming from the complexity of international accounts trading in overseas equity markets.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage the onboarding of new institutional segregated and fund accounts
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for international institutional funds and separately managed accounts
  • Research and resolve operational issues related to international institutional investor accounts
  • Provide assistance to Institutional Client Services Relationship Managers and Sales Relationship Managers with complex client service requests
  • Support the Institutional Client Operations Team Leader in:
    • Training Institutional Client Operations Team members
    • Managing workflows
    • Conducting sensitive peer reviews
  • Develop, document, and implement workflows and process improvements to streamline handling of:
    • Account additions
    • Withdrawals
    • Account set-up operations
    • Changes in accounts
  • Document non-standard operational issues that commonly arise in:
    • Accounts trading in international markets
    • Directed brokerage relationships
    • Unique institutional trading operations
  • Coordinate with international institutional custodians for:
    • Trading support
    • Implementation
    • Account operations
  • Monitor compliance issues related to:
    • International institutional industry
    • Unique codes of ethics
    • Internal requirements
  • Create, document, and implement policies and procedures
  • Facilitate contract negotiations between clients and internal teams (including Legal and Senior Management)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in institutional financial operations or onboarding
  • Preferable experience with:
    • Fund sub-distributor support
    • Database platform support
  • Highly developed qualitative/quantitative skills
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time across tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
