The role
Bristol University Press (BUP) is looking for an Institutional Sales Manager to implement its sales strategy and to increase sales in line with business growth targets. This role is pivotal to the Press's global sales development and outreach.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of an award-winning, dynamic and not-for-profit scholarly Press based at one of the world’s top universities.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement the annual institutional sales strategy, forecasts and targets for our digital content: eBooks, journals, and Open Access.
- Drive international revenue by securing new business and managing renewals for journal subscriptions and eBook collections on the Bristol University Press Digital (BUPD).
- Manage the commercial relationships with third-party eBook suppliers.
- Lead global licensing negotiations and develop and implement open-access models, such as transformative agreements.
- Develop relationships across universities, other institutions, and consortia.
- Work with colleagues at BUP across editorial and marketing to ensure all potential sales leads, usage data and OA data can inform sales decisions.
- Provide direct line management to the Institutional Sales Executive and Sales and Customer Administrator.

You should apply if
- You are a strong communicator, negotiator, and presenter with excellent reporting, organisational, and analytical skills and have a proven track record of delivering revenue growth and working under pressure.
- You will have a strong track record in developing relationships across universities, other institutions, and consortia.
