Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Instructor with a passion for delivering engaging medical courses to join our team as a medical instructor. As an instructor, you will be able to work flexibly, delivering short training courses on dates that work for you with a market-leading day rate.

You will deliver a wide variety of training courses provided by Gibb Medical & Rescue across the whole of the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate will be passionate about pre-hospital care, trauma & resuscitation, and advanced first aid. They will be able to engage and motivate learners and should be committed to maintaining high standards of training delivery. This role involves some physical demands, including the transportation and movement of training equipment and personally demonstrating medical techniques. There may be, at times, a requirement to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. Overnight stays will also be necessary for multi-day courses or distant locations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Independently deliver a wide range of medical training courses including but not limited to: Immediate and Advanced Emergency Care, EURIECA GWO enhanced first aid, HSE Offshore Medic course, First Response Emergency care levels 3 & 4, First Aid at work.
  • Support the development of training programs, ensuring clinical material is in line with the latest evidence-based best practice and that training delivery methods are engaging and effective.
  • Act as a professional subject matter expert and always represent the values and ethos of Gibb Medical & Rescue.
  • Ensure all training equipment used on courses is in a good state of repair and fit for purpose.
  • Support the internal clinical governance committee on matters relating to training & equipment.
  • Work with the lead IQA to ensure all external accreditation criteria are fulfilled and maintained.
  • Support Gibb Medical & Rescue exhibitions and conferences as required.
  • Escalate concerns to a member of the clinical governance faculty as required.
  • Work on various quality improvement projects as directed by the head of training.

Other requirements

Essential

  • Qualifications
    • PHEM Level E or FREC 4 Instructor
    • RCUK ALS / EPALS/PHTLS/MHFA instructor.
    • Current professional registration with either GMC, NMC, or HCPC.
    • GWO instructor accredited.
    • Level 3 Education & Teaching.
    • HSE Offshore Medic.
    • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA).
    • Level 3 Assessing qualification CAVA.
  • Experience
    • Evidence of high-quality training delivery.
    • Clinical practice dealing with patients suffering from trauma and requiring resuscitation.
    • Delivering training to a range of teams.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Understanding challenges faced when delivering out-of-hospital care.
    • Excellent organization and administration skills.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Ability to be flexible and proactive.

Desirable

  • Full UK driving license. Access to a vehicle with business insurance.
  • Travel is an essential part of this role.
