Our client is a large North Sea operator currently recruiting for the position of Instrument Technician based offshore on a fixed platform with a good field life. Rotation is 2/3.

Role overview

To support the safe and reliable operation of offshore production facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in instrumentation maintenance and operations, with extensive experience in Gas Turbine Micronet control systems, Fire & Gas systems, and telecommunications equipment. The role requires proven experience in the commissioning and start-up of new wells, as well as current CIP authorisation.

Key tasks / responsibilities

  • The installation has a vast number of safety systems to maintain to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Instrument technician will Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on field instruments, sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves.
  • Ensure equipment operates safely and accurately.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in instrumentation, control systems, and associated equipment.
  • Minimize production downtime through efficient problem-solving.
  • A key aspect of the role is commissioning and start-up of new wells.

Skills, experience & attributes of candidate

  • Essential - Safety Automation System experience including Autrosafe.
  • Experience in commissioning systems for new well handover.
  • Telecoms experience
  • Experience in Gas Turbine Micronet control systems
  • Current CIP authorisation
