🚀 The Job Mission
This hybrid Commissioning I&C Systems Engineer role is based in Bridgwater, with relocation support available. Candidates must be within commutable distance or willing to relocate.
Your responsibilities:
- Safely commission and test instrumentation, control & automation systems
- Diagnose faults in systems, equipment, and interfaces
- Support calibration, loop checks, and functional testing
- Review and ensure accuracy of commissioning documentation, test records, and handover packs
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams
- Resolve issues with contractors, suppliers, and engineering groups
- Interpret technical documentation, including:
- I&C drawings
- Schematics
- Logic diagrams
- Specifications
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures
- Provide clear progress updates against commissioning milestones
- Improve commissioning methods and operations

Essential Knowledge & Experience
- Familiarity with I&C, controls, automation, or commissioning (nuclear experience advantageous but not mandatory)
- Experience in a highly regulated or industrial environment
- Background in:
- Testing, diagnostics, or fault-finding
- Interpreting technical drawings & schematics
- Proficiency with:
- DCS, PLC, or SCADA systems
- Calibration and instrumentation testing
- Ability to produce practical and accurate technical documentation
- Commitment to safety-focused commissioning practices
- Comfort in multidisciplinary engineering team environments
