Insurance Advisor

Insurance Advisor – Howden Consumer & Local Commercial

With our no-limits approach, we rise to any challenge. Whether the question, concern, or risk, we bring the right people to the table to find the right answer. We’re reshaping the insurance narrative by doing right by our clients—using insurance as a force for building resilience for individuals, businesses, and communities. From pro bono work to insuring COVID-19 vaccine development and de-risking the carbon market, we’re putting our skills, knowledge, and networks to work for positive change.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Insurance Advisor to join our Howden Consumer & Local Commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving organisation with comprehensive on-the-job training and the chance to earn industry-recognised qualifications.

About You

You’ll thrive in a role that centres on meaningful conversations, listening, and relationship-building—understanding our clients’ unique needs and crafting tailor-made solutions tailored to them. A "one-size-fits-all" approach doesn’t exist at Howden.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key qualities include:

  • Problem-solving skills: Expect every client to be different, so you’ll need to think creatively to deliver solutions that really fit.
  • Sales or customer-facing experience is a plus, but no prior insurance experience is required—we’ll provide hands-on training, workshops, coaching, and support through industry qualifications.
  • A passionate, entrepreneurial mindset—our most successful deal flows come from team members deeply knowledgeable about niche areas like equine insurance, campervans, motorhome insurance, classic cars, motorbikes, marine policies, fine art, or other specialised sectors. Loving what you do means you’ll instantly build rapport and offer the best possible solutions.
  • Ambition and drive—we promote from within. Many of our leadership roles were once filled by Insurance Advisors, and we empower you with the tools to grow if you have the desire to succeed.

We reward dedication with an exceptional benefits package:

  • 22 days holiday (increasing to 27 days through service), plus public holidays.
