Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship

Salary: Circa £16,000

Contract Type: Full Time

The Opportunity - Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship

Start Date - September 2026, typically for 18 months

Starting Salary - Circa £16,000

Minimum Entry Criteria - You’ll also need at least four GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at C/4 or above.

What does the Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship Scheme involve day to day?

The 18 month programme is designed to give you the skills and real life experience you need not only to perform your role, but to thrive in it. You’ll work to world-class standards as you build real momentum in your career—and like everything that’s built here—it’ll last a lifetime.

JCB Insurance Services is owned by JCB Excavators, JCB Insurance is an independent General Insurance Broker focussed, as you might expect, on clients in the Construction Industry.

Based near JCB World Headquarter in Rocester, Staffordshire, JCB Insurance is a team of friendly experts who work hard to provide their clients with insurance tailored to their businesses at the right price. All backed up by exceptional customer service.

What could I be doing?

  • Training on the job and putting new skills into practice, you’ll get down to business straight away, preparing quotations, renewals and endorsements
  • We’ll also teach you about regulation and compliance so that you can be confident you’re doing everything to the letter of the law.
  • Once you’re confident, you’ll also be given special projects to complete, which will be your chance to really shine.
  • You’ll be well supported in your learning—our experts will be there to guide you whenever you need and there will be study days to allow you time to complete assessments and learn the theory behind every process and procedure.

What comes next?

  • We’ll be reviewing applications against the essential criteria then shortlisting and sending out links to our online assessments in November 2025 - January 2026 (we’d recommend you keep a look out for emails at this point as you’ll hear from us either way).
  • Once you’ve fully completed your online assessment, we’ll review it and provide you with an update within a few weeks. Please note, if you’ve not completed your online assessment then we won’t take your application further (we’ll send you a few reminders to make sure you don’t forget). If you've been progressed, you’ll be sent an invite to attend one of our in-person Assessment Centres.
  • In-person Assessment Centres will take place from January to April 2026 (we’ll send you all the details you need).
  • Following your Assessment Centre, whether you’ve been successful or not, our promise to you is that you’ll receive a call with feedback.
  • If successful, congratulations! We’ll now take you through the onboarding process, which will include a familiarisation day.
  • Welcome to JCB – our Early Careers cohorts ordinarily start in early September.
