Overview

Our client, a growing management consultancy specialising in sustainable business transformation, is seeking an experienced Insurance Risk Transformation Manager to join its Financial Services practice.

You will lead complex risk, regulatory and controls transformation programmes for insurance clients, working directly with senior and C-suite stakeholders. The role combines client delivery, proposition development, business development and team leadership, offering significant responsibility from the outset.

You will advise insurers on enterprise risk management, regulatory change, operational resilience, controls and target operating model design. You will also help shape the consultancy’s insurance risk proposition, contribute to market-facing thought leadership and support the development of high-performing consulting teams.

This opportunity is best suited to an established management consultant with deep insurance expertise, strong commercial judgement and a proven record of leading transformation engagements.

Please note that our client is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of risk, regulatory and controls transformation programmes within the insurance sector.
  • Manage complex client engagements, ensuring delivery quality, commercial performance and sustainable outcomes.
  • Deliver regulatory change programmes relating to areas such as Consumer Duty, IFRS 17, Solvency II and wider regulatory expectations.
  • Support operational resilience, stress testing and scenario analysis initiatives.
  • Design and implement risk target operating models across governance, people, process, data and technology.
  • Advise clients on enterprise risk management frameworks, governance models and regulatory compliance.
  • Help clients strengthen their operational risk, conduct risk, enterprise risk, controls and assurance capabilities.
  • Lead client workshops and facilitate complex strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Challenge client thinking constructively and translate complex issues into clear recommendations.
  • Shape and develop market propositions relating to insurance risk and regulatory transformation.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and develop perspectives on emerging financial services and insurance risk trends.
  • Support business development through proposals, requests for proposal, client pitches and account-growth activity.
  • Identify new opportunities and lead commercial conversations with prospective and existing clients.
  • Lead multidisciplinary consultant and client teams within complex, matrix-managed environments.
  • Coach and develop junior consultants and support the career development of a small group of colleagues.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, transparent and high-performing consulting culture.
  • Integrate ethical, sustainable and socially responsible practices into client and internal delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
