Insurance Specialist Department: Underwriting Employment Type: Permanent Location: Cheltenham Compensation: £30,000 - £35,000 / year

Description We are seeking a diligent and motivated Technical Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing London Market Insurance underwriting data accurately and efficiently, and for applying technical knowledge effectively to support team success and service excellence. This role involves analysing technical data, calculating transactions, and contributing to team success through personal development and flexibility. Key Responsibilities Process London Market Insurance underwriting data in alignment with established procedure guides. Analyse technical data and calculate transactions, including limits, premiums, and deductions. Manage internal and external queries to ensure data accuracy and processing efficiency. Develop and deliver training solutions, providing guidance, feedback, and support to the team. Organise and maintain documentation for data processing, prioritizing workflow effectively. Produce internal and client-facing reports with accuracy and clarity. Identify and recommend enhancements to technical procedure guides, ensuring approved changes are documented and communicated effectively. Provide solutions to clients when technical challenges arise.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Relevant experience in the insurance industry Strong commitment to service excellence and client satisfaction. Knowledge & Qualifications Comprehensive understanding of: Insurance market structures, practices, and regulations. Direct and reinsurance placements. Insurance documentation and data interpretation. Relevant classes of business to engage effectively with client operations and underwriting teams. Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Mathematics and English. Strong motivation to pursue relevant Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications
