- Hours: Primarily Monday to Friday, dayshift (40 hours per week)
Overall Purpose
The Intake Team Lead—previously referred to as the “Potato Receiving Team Leader”—plays a vital role in manufacturing and supply chain environments. You’ll oversee the procurement, quality, and flow of raw materials while ensuring efficient production, compliance with standards, and collaborative team leadership. This position combines leadership, organisational skills, and technical expertise to drive operational success and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Key priorities include:
- Lead a shift team of multi-skilled operatives to achieve production targets while upholding safety, food safety and OEE standards.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, including:
- Production Manager
- Planners & Schedulers
- Agricultural Team
- Shift Managers
- Auditors & Consumers
Key daily/functional deliverables:
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead team huddles
- Implement continuous improvement (MDI), CID route support, and centreline management for your area.
- Safety & Compliance
- Manage Cadbury Field Guide Issue routing and investigations (food and occupational health & safety).
- Conduct coaching conversations and audits on safety & food hygiene.
- Operational Excellence
- Proactively address hourly variance from plan (abnormality management) and defect handling.
- Manage daily staffing needs, including holiday scheduling and absence to maintain optimum levels.
- Training & Development
- Assign and facilitate team multi-skilling initiatives through up-skilling opportunities and training sessions.
- Conflict Resolution & Performance
- Handle disciplinary/grievance processes aligned with company policy.
- Conduct annual performance reviews (P@M).
- Improvement & Project Management
- Deliver pre-defined projects at plant, site, department, or regional levels.
- Ensure standard operating procedures (SOP) and standard work methods (SWM) are clear, updated, and optimised.
- Operational Standards
- Oversee 5S protocols, daily/weekly cleaning, and adherence to health, food safety, and environmental standards.

Experience

- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior leadership of a team of people
✔ Desirable:
- Background in food manufacturing operations
