The Integration Architect plays a critical role in shaping and delivering the architecture required for Primark's Oracle programme. Acting as the bridge between Oracle, business process design, and leadership, the role ensures that integration solutions align with business and technical objectives.
The role defines integration platforms, system interactions, data ownership, and interface contracts, while ensuring appropriate levels of security, performance, and resilience.

What You’ll Do as a Integration Architect
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Design and deliver end-to-end integration solutions across cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments, ensuring they are secure, scalable and resilient.
- Lead the architecture and delivery of enterprise integrations using Azure Integration Services, including API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus and Azure Functions.
- Define and govern API strategy, integration standards and best practices across multiple business-critical systems.
- Own integration solution designs, including high and low-level designs, data flows, sequence diagrams and non-functional requirements.
- Act as the technical authority for integration architecture, providing design governance, technical leadership and assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Partner with architects, engineering teams, product owners, business stakeholders and third-party vendors to deliver seamless, enterprise-wide integration solutions.
- Drive the modernisation of integration platforms by adopting API-first, event-driven and cloud-native architecture patterns, ensuring high levels of performance, security and operational resilience.

Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:
- Deep understanding of solution architecture principles, frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), and best practices.
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders alike.
- Proven Integration Architecture experience designing and governing enterprise integrations across cloud, on‑premise, and hybrid environments, including ownership of HLDs, LLDs, sequence diagrams, data flows, and non‑functional requirements.
- Proven ability to design and deliver enterprise integrations using Azure Integration Services, leveraging API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Functions, and event‑driven patterns to build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud‑native integration solutions.
- Deep ESB experience, including mediation, transformation, routing, orchestration, error handling, retries, and resiliency — with the ability to translate these patterns appropriately into microservices and AIS equivalents.
- Provide direction; oversight and approvals for integration design, data flows, API strategy, and platform usage across multiple systems.
- Serve as the technical authority on integration principles, security models, performance optimisation, and best‑practice standards.
- API strategy and governance expertise, covering: REST/JSON (and SOAP where required); Versioning, lifecycle management, and deprecation; Security (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, mTLS); Throttling, rate limiting, and consumer management.
