Integration Developer

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Hybrid Working (2 Days per Week in London)

Salary up to £60,900 plus generous pension and holiday allowance

A prestigious London-based organisation is seeking an experienced Integration Developer to join a high-performing technology team delivering a modern, event-driven integration platform at enterprise scale.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge integration and streaming technologies within a complex, large-scale environment undergoing significant digital transformation.

The Role

You will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining integrations between enterprise platforms, SaaS applications and operational systems. Working within a collaborative Agile engineering team, you will help shape integration standards, drive engineering best practice and contribute to the ongoing evolution of a modern integration platform.

This is a hands-on backend engineering role focused on event-driven architecture, integration services and scalable cloud-native development.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop event-driven integrations and backend services Build connectors, event-processing services and data pipelines Design reliable event flows, schemas and integration patterns Develop and maintain Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines Implement resilient integration patterns including retries, dead-letter handling and replay mechanisms Contribute to architecture, engineering standards and code reviews Improve observability through logging, metrics and distributed tracing Containerise and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes Collaborate with developers, data engineers and technical stakeholders across the organisation

Technology Environment

You will gain exposure to a modern technical stack including:

Kafka / Redpanda event streaming Docker & Kubernetes Microsoft Azure GitOps delivery practices OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana REST APIs and webhooks CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code

About You

You will bring:

Strong commercial software engineering background Building event-driven or integration platforms Designing and building integrations between enterprise systems Kafka, Redpanda or similar streaming technologies Modern integration patterns and API design Working within Agile development teams Strong communication and collaboration skills A passion for engineering quality and continuous improvement

Desirable:

Go and/or Python development Building CDC pipelines Exposure to observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry Working with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure Working in regulated environments such as higher education, public sector, NHS or financial services
