Role Overview
Integration Platforms & Delivery Lead
Location: Bristol HQ or Exeter HQ
Security Clearance: SC eligible
Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 (dependent on experience)
Purpose of the Role
As Integration Engineering Manager, you will lead the delivery and ongoing evolution of our enterprise integration capability, ensuring systems, platforms, applications, and third-party services connect securely, reliably, and effectively.
You will:
- Own the integration roadmap
- Lead delivery teams and partners
- Govern integration standards
- Ensure critical data and event flows support real-time operations, regulatory reporting, and customer outcomes
- Strengthen operational performance, business change, and long-term platform resilience
This is a role for a leader who can:
- Cut through complexity
- Stabilise legacy estates
- Build a modern integration capability fit for the future of the water sector
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a clear, outcome-led integration strategy and roadmap spanning:
- APIs
- Events
- Batch processing
- OT/IT integration
- Legacy platforms
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of integration changes—ensuring quality, predictability, and real business value
- Govern and optimise platforms, including:
- MuleSoft
- BizTalk
- SSIS
- FME
- Specialist tools
- Prioritise an integration backlog, balancing:
- Regulatory commitments
- Operational resilience
- Transformation projects
- Ensure the integrity, movement, and quality of operational data across systems outside the enterprise data platform
- Integrate IoT, telemetry, and SCADA data for near-real-time operational insight

Why This Role Stands Out
You won’t just deliver projects—you’ll own the integration capability end-to-end.
You’ll:
- Directly support operational performance, regulatory compliance, and environmental outcomes
- Bridge IT, OT, and Data Engineering, clarifying data ownership, flow, and quality
- Lead through real-world complexity, navigating legacy estates, partnerships, and critical infrastructure needs
Experience Required
You must bring:
- A proven track record of owning enterprise integration in a complex, multi-system environment (preferably in utilities, infrastructure, or regulated sectors)
- Expertise delivering:
- Strategy → Build → Live service → Optimisation
- Unified legacy and modern integration estates (including transformation projects)
- Experience managing multi-team, multi-supplier delivery models
- Strong grasp of:
- Integration architecture
- Governance
- Operational data management
- Ability to make clear, high-pressure prioritisation and investment decisions

Qualifications
- Degree-level education
- Professional qualification or accreditation in:
- Delivery (e.g., Agile, Scrum, SAFe)
- Product (e.g., PRINCE2 or MSP)
