About the Role
The Integration Support Engineer will deploy, support, and maintain system integrations across internal platforms and customer environments. This role blends networking, application deployment, and technical support, working collaboratively with development teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable integration services.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Deployment & Configuration
- Configure and deploy new integration solutions in internal and customer environments
- Install and configure internally developed software applications
- Support onboarding of new customers, ensuring adherence to integration standards
- Assist in testing and validation of integrations prior to go-live
Networking & Security Setup
- Configure and maintain VPN connections (site-to-site and client VPNs)
- Implement and manage firewall rules on FortiGate appliances
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues in secure network environments
- Ensure configurations align with security, compliance, and organisational policies

Support & Incident Management
- Provide technical support for integration-related issues to both internal teams and external customers
- Diagnose and resolve integration failures, data flow issues, and connectivity challenges
- Monitor system performance and address issues proactively
- Log, track, and resolve incidents within SLA timelines
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate closely with software development teams on new releases and enhancements
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and propose actionable solutions
- Contribute to technical documentation (e.g., deployment guides, knowledge base articles)
- Support automation and standardisation of deployment processes
- Assist in improving integration workflows and optimising operations
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
- Experience configuring VPN solutions and firewall rules (FortiGate preferred)
- Working knowledge of SQL queries
- Proficiency in network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, ports/protocols)
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting software applications in customer environments
- Troubleshooting expertise across network, application, and integration layers
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Skills
- Experience with healthcare/NHS integrations (e.g., HL7, FHIR, LIMS, pathology systems)
- Working knowledge of secure data transfer methods (SFTP, APIs, REST services)
- Exposure to monitoring tools and logging platforms
- Understanding of ITIL or structured service management processes
