Intellectual Property Solicitor (Associate / Senior Associate)

Manchester | Hybrid | £55,000–£70,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Looking to build your reputation within a growing Intellectual Property team rather than simply inherit a caseload?

Sanderson King's Professional Services Practice is supporting a well-established national law firm as it continues to invest heavily in the growth of its Commercial Services team. As part of this expansion, we're looking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate specialising in Intellectual Property to help shape the future of an ambitious and growing practice.

This is an opportunity to work on high-quality, intellectually stimulating matters for a broad client base, whilst enjoying genuine career progression, greater autonomy and a collaborative culture that places far less emphasis on hierarchy than many traditional law firms.

The Opportunity

  • Advise a diverse portfolio of clients across a broad range of Intellectual Property matters including:
    • Trade marks, copyright and brand protection
    • IP licensing, assignments and commercialisation
    • Brand protection and enforcement
    • Intellectual Property disputes
    • Commercial contracts with an IP focus
    • Technology, software and digital IP matters
    • Risk management and IP strategy
  • Work closely alongside Corporate, Commercial and Employment teams on cross-practice projects
  • Alongside your client work you'll also have the opportunity to:
    • Help shape and grow the firm's Intellectual Property offering
    • Mentor junior lawyers
    • Build long-term client relationships
    • Contribute to business development and thought leadership
    • Develop new services and innovative legal solutions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
