Description
In this role, you’ll coach, mentor and assess apprentices as they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for their apprenticeship. This role aligns to industry-level titles such as Intelligence Analyst Trainer, Apprenticeship Coach, Trainer/Assessor, Learning Coach or Skills Coach.
The Role
As an Intelligence/Data Analyst Coach with Pearson TQ, you’ll help apprentices build confidence, capability and progress throughout their apprenticeship journey. You’ll deliver high-quality coaching, training, assessment and feedback, supporting learners from initial assessment through to Gateway preparation and successful completion. In your first six months, your biggest impact will be building strong learner relationships, using technology effectively, and keeping apprentices on track against their target achievement dates. This is an opportunity to combine intelligence industry expertise with meaningful coaching, helping learners apply their skills in real workplace contexts.
What You'll Own
- Coach and mentor apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for their apprenticeship, providing timely, constructive and professional feedback.
- Deliver robust initial assessments, progress reviews and Gateway preparation, ensuring apprentices have a clear, individualised learning journey.
- Use technology, e-portfolio, MIS and online learning systems to support effective delivery, accurate records and timely learner progress.
- Maintain strong working relationships with apprentices, military or civilian line managers, customers, business partners and Pearson colleagues to support positive learner outcomes.
- Monitor progress against target achievement dates, promptly identifying risks, absences or support needs and escalating where needed.
- Contribute to quality standards through accurate assessment decisions, internal quality assurance expectations, CPD, standardisation and team meetings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
