Intensive Crisis Worker – Short Stay Recovery House (Part Time, Maternity Cover)

Job Reference: NWM/711

Position: Intensive Crisis Worker

Hours: Part Time (22.5 hours per week, 3 days per week)

Shifts:

  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM

(Work pattern will be discussed during the interview)

Rota Pattern

  • A two-week rotating schedule, which includes weekend working

Salary: £25,390 per annum (pro-rata for part-time hours)

Contract: Fixed Term – Maternity cover, until June 2027

Location: Short Stay Recovery House, Holly Tree House, Norwich (NR5)


About the Short Stay Recovery House

The Short Stay Recovery House is a 24-hour service supporting individuals experiencing a mental health crisis who do not require hospital admission.


About the Role

You will provide crisis intervention and support to people experiencing psychiatric and/or psychosocial crises, helping them navigate difficult situations without hospitalisation.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Support individuals in crisis (presenting with low mood, depression, anxiety, mania, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts) to develop customised safety plans and coping strategies.
  • Identify and manage risks for self or others within the service period by working closely with the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service (CRHT).
  • Liasie with the Service Manager upon new referrals, ensuring a full risk handover when admitting guests.
  • Complete admissions and discharge paperwork, including recovery plans.
  • Facilitate one-to-one and group sessions, tailored to client-specific recovery goals.
