Location: Birmingham Salary: £28,333.50 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week Closing Date: 16th July 2026
About The Role
The Intensive Support Navigator will provide an intensive support package to individuals referred into the Intensive Support Service within Birmingham.
Referrals include single people who may present as challenging, with multiple and complex needs. The Navigator will develop a trauma-informed support journey focused on:
- Skills and resilience
- Life skills & health & wellbeing
- Mental health engagement
- Social/community engagement
- Social wellbeing
- Digital inclusion
In collaboration with the three partner providers, key specialisms include:
- CGL: Harm reduction, substance misuse, social prescribing, and treatment support
- St Basils: Under 25s, care leavers, complex barriers, and mental health support
- Trident: Over 25s, complex barriers, and mental health support
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be responsible for:
- Building adaptive relationships and supporting individuals to access tailored help
- Working trauma-informed while adhering to the PIE (Person-In-Environment) framework
- Managing a caseload of individuals with multiple and complex needs
- Developing co-produced, personalised support plans aligned with each participant’s goals and strengths
- Ensuring participants exercise choice and control over their lives
- Coordinating interventions from other agencies to enable progress on recovery
- Acting as a central navigator for external support networks across Birmingham
- Assisting in creating Safety Plans (Risk Assessments), led with the individual and all relevant stakeholders
- Practicing a step-up, step-down approach to empower participants
- Promoting traditional values, embodying pride in service delivery
- Upholding Safeguarding regulations to ensure safety for all vulnerable participants

Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants must demonstrate:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, ensuring accurate data entry onto INFORM (case management system)
- Familiarity with the Service operating model and required processes
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with external agencies
- A solid understanding of homelessness pathways
- Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Adaptability for a target-driven environment
- Experience in people management, including leading, mentoring, and developing teams
