Interface JCST Training Fellowship in Hand Surgery (2026 Start)

This post continues the established Imperial JCST Training Interface Group (TIG) Fellowship in Hand Surgery, now recruited through Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHNHST). Whilst recruitment processes differ, the day-to-day training remains unchanged. The Interface Fellow will remain on the Important Skills Cognitive Portal (ISCP) for their electronic portfolio and an electronic Logbook to log operations.

About the Role

The fellowship aims to develop exceptional hand surgeons with expertise across orthopaedic and plastic surgery principles. Fellows learn diverse skills including:

  • Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery: Managing complex fractures, deformities, and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery: Microsurgery, tissue transfer, nerve reconstruction, and aesthetico-functional repair.
  • Full Scope of Hand/Wrist Conditions: Elective and emergency scenarios, from basic repairs to complex reconstructions.

This programme represents the highest standard of hand surgery training in the UK, targeting aspiring future leaders in the specialty.

Fellowship Overview

JCST Fellowships provide advanced, structured training in niche specialties not covered at certification level. Aimed at:

  • Building on ACAPS/IP&A certification (Clinical Core Trainees) to deepen expertise.
  • Enabling independent contribution as part of multidisciplinary hand/wrist teams.
  • Managing elective and emergency patients across the entire spectrum of care.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
