The Opportunity
Interim CEO (9-Month Contract)
Midlands | Premium Clothing Brand | Turnaround Opportunity
Delighted to be supporting the search for an Interim CEO to lead a privately-owned premium clothing brand through a critical period of transformation.
This is a hands-on leadership assignment for an experienced CEO, Managing Director, or COO who has led businesses through periods of turnaround, stabilisation, or transformation. The business has a well-established brand, loyal customer base, and strong market heritage but is at a key strategic inflection point and requires an experienced leader to restore profitability, improve commercial performance, and help shape its future direction.

Reporting to the shareholders and board, you will be responsible for:
- Returning the business to profitability and cash break-even
- Improving operational and commercial performance
- Assessing organisational capability and leadership effectiveness
- Evaluating future growth opportunities and market positioning
- Developing a clear strategic plan for the next phase of the business
- Providing leadership during a critical period of change and decision-making
This is not a pure growth brief. The successful individual must be comfortable making difficult commercial decisions, driving operational improvements, and balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous CEO, Managing Director, General Manager, or COO experience
- A background ideally with a premium clothing brand
- Strong e-commerce and digital trading expertise
- SME experience, ideally within owner-led, private equity, or family-owned environments
- A proven track record of turnaround, restructuring, profit improvement, or business recovery
- Strong financial and operational leadership capabilities
- The ability to quickly assess situations, gain credibility, and deliver results at pace
