An opportunity to shape the future of a charity at a pivotal moment
Charity Recruit is delighted to be partnering with a respected UK health charity to appoint an Interim Chief Executive Officer. This isn’t simply a role to maintain the status quo. It is an opportunity to lead an organisation through one of the most important periods in its development.
Over recent years, the charity has successfully transformed its strategic direction, evolving from a research-focused organisation into one that is increasingly recognised for its advocacy, collaboration and influence across its sector. That transformation has created new opportunities, strengthened relationships and significantly increased the organisation’s profile.
However, like many charities operating today, the external environment continues to evolve. Funding priorities are changing, competition for grants has intensified and organisations are increasingly required to demonstrate collaboration, innovation and measurable impact.
The Board is therefore seeking an experienced and commercially minded leader who enjoys navigating change and can help the organisation build on its achievements whilst preparing it for its next phase of growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
