Job Title: Interim Children's Services Commissioning Manager
Rate:
£450-500 per day Inside IR35
Contract:
6–12 Months
Location:
Midlands (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and operational commissioning across Children's Services.
- Drive SEND and Social Care sufficiency programmes.
- Oversee procurement, contracting, and market management.
- Lead placement commissioning and provider relationships.
- Deliver commissioning strategies, transformation programmes, and service improvements.
- Work closely with health, education, and wider partner agencies.
- Ensure effective governance, contract management, and value for money.

About You
- Proven leadership experience within Children's Services Commissioning.
- Strong background in SEND and/or Children's Social Care.
- Experience delivering sufficiency strategies and market-shaping initiatives.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement and contract management.
- Strong stakeholder management and partnership-working skills.
- Experience leading teams through change and improvement programmes.
- DBS clearing is essential
