Interim Communications Lead (UK & International)

Interim Communications Lead – UK & International Markets

Location: UK (Remote/Global collaboration) Duration: 9-month contract replacing team members on parental leave Industry: Beauty, Lifestyle, & Fashion


About the Role

OLAPLEX, a transformative leader in prestige haircare, seeks a skilled Interim Communications Lead to maintain uninterrupted continuity across UK, EMEA, and Australian markets. This pivotal role ensures seamless global communications strategy execution, including PR, influencer partnerships, trade & pro advocacy, and launch campaigns, aligning with commercial goals.

As the key bridge between Global and International teams, you will uphold established frameworks while managing agency governance, market programmes, and operational workflows during a senior leave absence.


Key Responsibilities

Integrated Communications

  • Lead UK communications with direct oversight of EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and Australia, driving execution across earned media, influencer, ambassador, and journalist advocacy channels.
  • Translate Global brand priorities into actionable, market-relevant strategies for enhanced visibility, cultural relevance, and trust.
  • Spearhead integrated launch plans to align with commercial objectives, ensuring market consistency and orchestration.
  • Sustain momentum in campaigns that amplify the brands’ equity and trustworthiness.

Agency & Partner Leadership

  • Oversee agency ecosystems (PR, trade PR, and influencer/jewellery campaigns), along with budgets, KPIs, and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Foster aligned execution and reporting, unifying external partners for cohesive delivery.
  • Maintain governance and processes, including SOPs, workflows, and governance documentation.

Influencer & Pro Ambassador Management

  • Lead regional ambassador and advocate programmes, cultivating long-term loyalty.
  • Manage influencer strategy, coordinating earned and paid collaborations across market preferences.
  • Guide content integration, ensuring creator messaging aligns with PR storytelling, retailer priorities, and brand narratives.
  • Champion pro stylist engagements and trade network growth, involving them as brand ambassadors with material touchpoints.

Launch & Campaign Management

  • Direct planning and oversight of launches, product moments, and brand events, ensuring operational readiness—timelines, assets, events, and deliverables—across markets.
  • Align cross-functionally with Global Marketing, Sales, Education, and PR, maintaining stakeholder cohesion.
  • Oversee agency/distributor alignment to deliver harmonised messaging and tactical support to markets.

Reporting & Operational Infrastructure

  • Manage reporting frameworks (figurative performance, KPIs) and EMV tracking, standardising across regions.
  • Optimise internal communications tools and workflows, improving efficiency.
  • Ensure regular recaps of performanti monitoring for senior stakeholders.
  • Consolidate and review agency trackers, performance scores, and recaps, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain launch calendars and agency processes, sustaining function continuity.

About You

About You

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in communications, with demonstrated expertise in strategy design, implementation, and adaptability to deliver measurable results.
  • Familiarity with global brands, premium beauty, fashion, and lifestyle sectors is a strong preference.
  • A pre-established network of influencers, journalists**, and industry insiders in UK/Europe, partnering authentic and results-driven content creation.
  • Proven experience developing and executing comprehensive global communications plans with track-worthy outcomes.
  • Strong strategic mindset, aligni corporate objectives with a nuanced and culturally aware approach.
  • Confident collaborator with cross-functional teams, including Brand Marketing, Education, and E-commerce, with an interactive style.
  • Innovator-within-discipline, celebrated for creativity in problem-solving, event ideation, and gifting strategies.
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial attitude with proactive self-scaffolding.
