We’re hiring: Interim Country Accounting Manager / Controller (9 -10 month FTC)
Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire (hybrid 2 days a week)
Contract: Fixed-term contract on payroll– maternity cover, starting January/February 2026

We’re now looking for a qualified accountant to take ownership of our main US trading entity during a 9-10 month maternity cover contract.
This is a high-impact, hands-on Country Accounting Manager role where you will manage reporting, strengthen controls and play a key part in improving and automating manual, transactional processes as the business evolves. You will also manage a small team based in the UK, working on a hybrid basis 2 days a week in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
What you will be doing?
Financial Reporting
- Ownership of the financial reporting for Alliance Pharma Inc (main US trading entity), responsible for the month end close and statutory reporting.
- Key contact with Alliance’s auditors on matters relating to Alliance Pharma Inc.
- Balance sheet and P&L analysis and provide detailed commentary to senior management.
- Weekly sales analysis and review of customer discounting and rebates to ensure accuracy of cash receipts and appropriate revenue recognition.
- Support the Group Financial Reporting Manager and wider Financial Reporting Team with adhoc accounting matters in other international legal entities and ensure consistency of processes and controls across the Group.

Team Management & Operational Finance
- Direct line management of Assistant Financial Accountant and Accounts Receivable Assistant.
- Manage the accounts payable process (purchase to pay) with the Assistant Financial Accountant for Alliance Pharma Inc.
- Review Bank reconciliations and review payment runs, ensuring they are performed on a timely basis and in line with Group approval process.
- Review and approve journals and balance sheet reconciliations of direct reports.
- Manage the accounts receivable process (order to cash) with the Accounts Receivable Assistant for Alliance Pharma Inc. This involves managing US retailer customer portals and liaising with third party customer brokers.
- Prepare weekly cashflows and look after day-to-day banking requirements of Alliance Pharma Inc.
Financial Accounting
- Partner with supply chain, commercial, finance and marketing departments in affiliate regions along with UK teams with regards to management of accruals, provisions, and accrued customer discounts.
- Preparation of journals and management of month-end schedules accruals and prepayments.
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations within FloQast (reconciliation tool).
Controls & Process Improvements
- Ensure the international legal entities are compliant with International Accounting Standards (IFRS) with a particular focus on revenue recognition (IFRS 15).
- Develop and improve month end reporting packs of international entities and present to senior management.
- Ensure controls are effective, clearly documented and identify areas where controls could be improved.

Other
- Support the Group Tax Department with local tax returns and filings.
- Support the affiliate entities with any ad hoc projects.
About you:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience supporting or owning a country subsidiary (ideally US)
- Strong technical grounding: P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Experienced in month-end reporting under tight deadlines
- Confident working with auditors and preparing audit-ready schedules
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation)
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable operating in a changing environment
- Collaborative, with the ability to work cross-functionally and internationally
