Interim Data Privacy Lawyer- £170k-£200k- Global Tech Client
Data Privacy Counsel (Mid-Level)
Location: London Contract: 6 months (Inside IR35) Industry: Global Technology Client
A leading global technology client is seeking a commercially minded Data Privacy Counsel to join its high-performing legal team. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of privacy, digital products, AI and emerging technologies in a fast-paced, international environment.
You’ll partner closely with product, engineering, security, compliance and commercial teams to deliver pragmatic, risk-based legal advice across all data protection and governance matters in EMEA and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on UK and EU data protection laws, including GDPR, ePrivacy and related regulatory frameworks.
- Support the launch of new products and features through privacy-by-design reviews and DPIAs.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop data collection, use, sharing and retention strategies.
- Review, draft and negotiate data processing agreements, vendor contracts and technology agreements.
- Guide on international data transfers, AI governance, adtech, consumer-facing products, and online platform compliance.
- Assist in regulatory inquiries, incident response, and data breach handling.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and propose practical compliance solutions.

About You
- Must be UK or common law qualified(Minimum 6 PQE required).
- Requires strong experience advising on data privacy and technology matters (e.g., in-house or private practice).
- Desirable experience in technology, digital platforms, social media, gaming, fintech, or fast-moving consumer environments.
- Commercially savvy, able to balance legal risk and business objectives.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
