Interim Deputy Headteacher | Medway, Kent | September - December
Are you ready to make your mark as a Deputy Headteacher in a school where Christian values, community spirit, and academic ambition go hand in hand?
Academics is proud to be supporting a well-regarded Church of England primary school with nursery provision in Medway, Kent, in their search for an inspiring interim Deputy Headteacher to join their dedicated leadership team from September to December.
This is a large primary school, with a strong sense of community and identity at its heart. With outcomes consistently above national averages across EYFS, phonics, and KS2, and a strong record of pastoral care.
As Deputy Headteacher, you'll work closely with the Headteacher to lead teaching and learning, drive whole-school improvement, and act as one of the school's Designated Safeguarding Leads. You won't hold a designated class, but you'll be a visible, hands-on presence - teaching when needed, coaching colleagues, and championing an inclusive, "can do" culture where every child can flourish.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
