An opportunity has arisen to join a forward-thinking local authority who have an ambitious approach to property and asset management. You will have an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, operational and community-based assets, committed to maximising estate value whilst also supporting wider economic, social, and environmental outcomes for local communities.
Your new role
We are seeking an experienced Interim Estates Surveyor to join a busy property team on a contract basis. This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad range of landlord and tenant matters, alongside the opportunity to support community asset transfer projects for candidates with the relevant experience and interests.
Responsibilities:
- Management of a diverse property portfolio including undertaking landlord and tenant activities.
- Provision of professional property advice to internal stakeholders and service departments.
- Negotiating terms and agreements to protect authorities interest and maximise asset performance.
- Supporting the management of income-generating assets and identifying opportunities for value enhancement.
- Assisting with community asset transfer projects, including stakeholder engagement, options appraisal and transaction support where applicable.

What you'll need to succeed:
- Proven experience working as an Estates Surveyor within the public or the private sector.
- Excellent landlord and tenant knowledge, including lease negotiation, rent reviews, and estate management.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload autonomously and deliver outcomes within agreed timescales.
