Interim Finance Manager – Financial Control & Reporting
Interim Finance Manager – Financial Control & Reporting London (Hybrid) – 6 months + £425 - £525 p/day
We have partnered with a high-growth, early-stage business to appoint an Interim Finance Manager on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential to convert to a permanent position. This is a pivotal, hands-on role within a lean finance team, working directly with the Finance Director. You will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and will suit a technically strong finance professional who is equally comfortable operating at both a financial accounting and operational level, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities Take ownership of the end-to-end finance function in a lean team environment Lead the month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting Prepare monthly financial statements and management accounts, including analysis and commentary Responsible for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Support budgeting and forecasting, aligned to business growth plans Ensure robust financial controls and improve existing processes and procedures Act as the key point of contact for day-to-day finance matters, supporting the wider business Partner closely with the Finance Director, providing reliable financial insight to support decision-making Contribute to building a scalable finance function to support upcoming growth and projects

Skills & Qualifications Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Strong background in financial accounting and reporting Proven experience producing management accounts in a hands-on role Confident managing both transactional finance (AP/AR) and month-end processes Experience working in lean, fast-paced or scaling environments Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines Proactive, self-starter mindset with a willingness to “roll up sleeves” Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders
