We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to support the finance team during a period of process improvement and systems development and in the lead up to the year end financial audit. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, enhancing the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the implementation of improvements within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct a comprehensive review and cleanse of the Fixed Asset Register, including:
- Validating the existence of assets.
- Reviewing asset classifications and recategorising where appropriate.
- Assessing useful lives and depreciation methods.
- Identifying and processing any impairments or disposals.
- Ensuring asset valuations are accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
- Implement and optimise the Fixed Asset module within the ERP system, including:
- Creating fixed asset cards.
- Configuring depreciation books and posting groups.
- Automating fixed asset accounting processes to improve efficiency and control.
- Assist with the ongoing integration of Amazon transactions into the ERP system, helping to streamline financial reporting and improve automation.
- Investigate and resolve existing balance sheet reconciliation issues relating to Amazon and other key accounts.
- Assist with other detailed balance sheet reconciliations in preparation for the year-end financial audit, identifying and resolving historic issues while improving the quality and robustness of supporting schedules.
- Lead the setup and configuration of new legal entities (Inc. and Holding Company) within the existing ERP system, ensuring an appropriate chart of accounts, dimensions and financial reporting structure.
- Support the implementation of the annual budget within the ERP system, ensuring accurate upload and reporting functionality.
- Assist with wider finance transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects as required.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller and CFO to strengthen financial processes, controls and reporting.

What You’ll Bring
- Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with strong financial accounting experience.
- Proven experience implementing or improving ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Extensive fixed asset accounting knowledge, including asset register management, depreciation, impairments and fixed asset module implementation.
- Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
- Experience supporting finance system implementations and process improvements.
- Demonstrable experience of month-end and year-end financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work independently, prioritise workload and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across finance and wider business teams.
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Experience implementing budgeting functionality within an ERP system.
- Experience integrating marketplace platforms (such as Amazon) into finance systems.
- Experience working in an interim or project-based finance role.
- Previous experience within a retail, distribution or multi-entity environment would be advantageous.
