Interim Financial Controller
Interim Financial Controller (6–9 Month Contract)
Location: London (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join our client on a 6–9 month contract. This is a hands-on role covering a BAU Financial Controller position, so the successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong finance professional with experience in Private Equity-backed businesses and exposure to IPO readiness programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Financial Controller support across business-as-usual finance operations.
- Strengthen and remediate financial controls, ensuring a robust governance framework.
- Manage and improve financial reporting processes, including changes to reporting timelines.
- Partner with internal and external auditors throughout the audit process.
- Work effectively within a matrix management structure, collaborating with senior stakeholders across the business.
- Support finance transformation, governance and process improvement initiatives as required.

Key Requirements
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller within a large, complex organisation, ideally within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of Private Equity environments and IPO readiness.
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge and financial controls expertise.
- Demonstrable experience of remediating financial controls.
- Experience managing reporting processes and implementing changes to reporting timetables.
- Strong experience working with external auditors.
- Comfortable operating within a matrix management environment.
- Available to start at short notice and able to deliver value from day one.

The successful candidate will have a track record of longevity within previous permanent roles, demonstrating the ability to build credibility and deliver sustainable improvements, before potentially moving into an interim or contracting career. They will be commercially minded, highly adaptable and capable of quickly integrating into a fast-paced business.
