Role: Interim Financial Controller

Company: A newly PE-backed Professional Services Consultancy

Day rate: £650-750 (outside IR35)

This is a newly PE-backed professional services business that is looking to hire an interim financial controller. This is an exciting phase to come in and really be a part of a growing finance team during the initial growth phase following a PE investment. You’d be working directly under the CFO and liaising with other members of the SLT. Heading up the finance function taking ownership of the reporting, annual audit, financial controls, forecasting, budgeting, and the board packs. You’ll have 2 direct reports, one being an Accountant and the other an FP&A analyst. They are looking for someone who has thorough financial controller experience that can come in and get the finance function to PE standard, that can lay the foundations for the business to fulfil their buy-and-build journey.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
