Interim Group Financial Controller – Elderly Care Home Provider

DURATION: 3-6 months. Permanent potential, not guaranteed.

LOCATION: Hybrid working (Flexible base)

Compass Associates are supporting the search for an interim Group Financial Controller to join a growing, multi-site care and support organisation in a senior finance leadership capacity.

This is a high-impact role combining strategic finance, working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in improving reporting infrastructure and supporting long-term business planning across the organisation.

The Role

As Interim Group Financial Controller, you will work closely with senior operational and executive leadership with responsibility for:

  • Optimising current management accounts production process, with a target of first draft being produced by working day 3 of the month
  • Create balance sheet reconciliations, propose actions to clean unidentified items and create regular review process
  • Prepare for year end audit
  • Weekly production of 13 week rolling cash flow forecast model
  • Resident personal allowance bank accounts process review
  • Leading and developing the finance team, overseeing day-to-day finance operations and outputs
  • Production and improvement of management accounts, MI reporting and performance dashboards
  • Delivering budgets, forecasts and rolling cashflow modelling
  • Variance analysis across key revenue streams, payroll and operational costs
  • Supporting development of financial systems, reporting tools and data visibility
  • Driving process improvement and efficiencies across finance operations
  • Supporting audit processes and statutory reporting requirements

About You

This opportunity will suit an experienced and commercially focused finance leader who brings:

  • Fully qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams
  • Background within multi-site or operationally complex organisations
  • Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling capability
  • Confidence presenting financial information to senior stakeholders
  • Experience improving financial systems, reporting or MI infrastructure
  • A proactive, solutions-focused and collaborative leadership style

Candidate Suitability Note

This role requires proven experience operating at Financial Controller level within a multi-site or operational environment. Applications can only be considered from candidates meeting this level of experience.
