Location: Flexibility to work remotely and utilise either Bristol or London offices. (Hybrid/Flexible Working)
Duration: Initial 6 months contract
MUST HAVE: Background in life insurance, pensions or regulated financial services only.
We are supporting a FTSE - listed pensions business, who are seeking an experienced tax leader to join the organisation as Interim Group Head of Tax. This is a senior leadership opportunity with significant responsibility for the Group's UK tax agenda, while also supporting broader international tax matters.
Working closely with the CFO and executive stakeholders, you will lead tax strategy, governance, compliance and risk management across a complex and regulated financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Group's tax function, with a strong focus on UK tax strategy, governance and compliance.
- Advise the CFO, Executive Team and Board on tax matters and business initiatives.
- Oversee UK tax compliance, reporting and regulatory obligations.
- Own the tax risk framework and ensure effective controls and governance.
- Support strategic transactions, including acquisitions, portfolio transfers and reinsurance arrangements.
- Manage relationships with HMRC, external advisers, auditors and Group stakeholders.
- Lead and develop the tax team while driving process and control improvements.
- Partner with Finance, Risk, Actuarial, Legal and Operations to support business objectives.

Candidate Profile
- CTA and/or ACA qualified with senior in-house tax leadership experience.
- Strong UK corporate tax, reporting and governance expertise.
- Background in insurance, pensions or regulated financial services.
- Experience advising senior stakeholders and managing HMRC relationships.
- Commercial mindset with exposure to M&A or other strategic transactions preferred.
