Interim Head of Commercial Finance
The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Commercial Finance to play a pivotal role in a fast-growing, customer-centric business. With millions of customers and ambitious expansion plans, this is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of commercial decision-making.
The role will partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership team to drive performance, improve insight, and support transformational change. As a commercially-minded finance leader, you’ll move beyond traditional reporting to become a trusted business partner.
This opportunity requires you to enhance financial planning, commercial analysis, management reporting, and customer profitability insight, ensuring leaders have the tools required to make informed, strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Finance Leadership
- Lead the commercial finance function, fostering a culture of insight-led decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
- Challenge assumptions and deliver robust financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and wider leadership team.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee and refine budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Develop more sophisticated financial models to enhance business visibility and accuracy.
- Ensure meaningful performance reporting driven by key business metrics, rather than historical data alone.
- Establish consistent KPIs and reporting frameworks across multiple business units and regions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
